Hello, I am Sophia
I’m a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in Seattle, United States.
A few years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to United States wasn’t in the long-range plan. As with many international transfers, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The early months were demanding — fresh processes, new routines, heightened expectations. Daily chores felt tougher than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet little by little, routines took shape. We found places that fit our needs, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built Harbor Leaf Grid
Most online guidance fell into either corporate relocation tips or superficial tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap with practical advice drawn from real life in United States.
What this Site Is (And Isn’t)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in United States
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site isn’t:
- A resource from a tourism board
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- A generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in United States goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I will continue to document our discoveries.
If you have questions about family life in Seattle or anywhere in United States, please feel free to get in touch.
Warm regards,
Sophia
